Breakfast was excellent the first day (19th Aug), mark had it running like clockwork- very organised and food was cooked perfectly. On the Sunday (20th Aug) different chef and breakfast staff and wasn’t as good - we were given a menu on the first day, however when we asked for one the second day, we were told they didn’t have any - we explained we were given one the day before to which the lady replied “we don’t really use them “! 5 minutes later she gave a menu to a table of paying guests!! The breakfast service just wasn’t as efficient. Also the food wasn’t as good the second day - the eggs over-cooked and the croquettes cold in the middle - when we mentioned this some replacements that had been microwaved so they were no longer crispy on the outside were brought out so late we had already finished our breakfast by then. Have to say Mark was excellent the whole time he was working- organised, professional, helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was plentiful - juices/pastries/cereals/toast etc first then a plated breakfast was cooked to order, which very tasty - great ingredients cooked well and served nicely. The room was comfortable and had enough power outlets for our device recharging needs - fresh towels - not the most modern, but an absolutely functional and clean bathroom - shower over the bath was good. Parking was easy and there was plenty of room. Location was perfect for Brixham Harbour and amenities, which was a great place to visit - just a short drive then the harbour car park was run by "RingGo" on a 'start/stop' basis using their phone app - or I think you can pay cash if you like. Great stay and would definitely consider returning in the future.

We stayed for a night to travel on The Train of Lights and our accommodation was right by the railway track and the bedroom that our son's stayed in was facing the track so they could watch the train pass through and hear it's whistle, which they loved. You could only hear the train whistle while the event is taking place, no traffic noise lovely and quiet, comfortable sleep. Mark who is the manager was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our room was very spacious, well presented and clean, Sunday Lunch was absolutely beautiful, big portions and very well priced, breakfast was also very nice indeed. Would definitely recommend.

Great location for visiting the places I had wanted to see. Walking distance to national trust Greenway, and only a 20 minute drive to national trust Coleton Fishacre. The bus stop is only a 2 minute walk which will take you into Paignton, Torquay or beyond and is a regular service. Good size room and food was excellent. Had breakfast and dinner each day and never disappointed, and staff were attentive. Really good sized car park too.

The manager Mark was very professional, very friendly and helpful advising us on the best places to visit etc He made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely with loads of choices and we chose to eat dinner in the pub on the four nights we stayed . The food was amazing with a varied menu. The bar staff were also very friendly. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely return.
